Sunshine on a rainy day.

Family words from Matti's memorial service preserve his personality, the community that surrounded him and the faith that carried the Martins through loss.

Barefoot in his honor.

Ronna Martin began her memorial remarks barefoot in honor of Matti and wore yellow because he brought sunshine into their home on a rainy day.

She thanked first responders, family, the 4-H community, churches, campground hosts and the many people who had stepped in to care for animals, finish fair responsibilities and support the family.

Responsibility was part of growing up.

Ronna shared a family rite-of-passage message written for Matti's sixth birthday. It marked growing responsibility, more chores and a special gift meant to remind him that he was becoming capable of caring for others.

Faith and peace.

The memorial remarks are explicitly Christian and speak openly about Matti's faith, the family's belief in eternal life and the peace they drew from that belief. That spiritual context is part of the historical record and is preserved respectfully here.

Preservation note: The complete family-authored memorial source is archived privately under the old-site source archive. This public page keeps the central family themes readable without turning the memorial into generic marketing copy.
